GHOSTFRAME
LAKE ELSINORE HARDCORE
Lake Elsinore, California Natives - Ghostframe - was conceived in the fall of 2024 - The brain child of guitarist Christian Calderon, who was spending some time passing the baby with longtime friend and fellow guitarist Royce Felix - Gears started turning and the itch even greater when drummer Tom Shamblin was asked to put some beats behind their shapes and form a couple songs - It wasn't long until Calderon & Felix met up with Cory Sheward at a Hope Conspiracy show where Calderon spent the entire evening buzzing into his ear that he should come sing for their new band - Little was it known at the time that Sheward and Felix were already working on putting their old group, Roses Overhead back together, but the offer was enticing and the pressure broke the camels back.
They scheduled a day for Sheward to come listen to what the guys had - He was impressed - On his way to open the pipes for the first time in many years, his next visit involved an add on craigslist for a PA - Still feeling slightly insecure about singing and writing again with new and old friends, plus the fact that they needed extra tone to fill in the gaps and hold down the rhythm, Sheward decided to reach out to his dear friend Justin Panno to play bass - Suprised by his enthusiasm, Panno agreed and they were off - It still took months before they had a name but let the record show that Ghostframe was officially formed in October of 2024.
Comprised of members from past groups: Roses Overhead (Felix/Sheward), Heritage (Calderon), Loather/Calibrate The Virus (Shamblin) and Yesterday's Rising (Panno) - Each of the vast and matured influences that they bring to the table, truly makes their sound stand out from the rest - With inspiration from traditional hardcore, post-hardcore, doom metal, death metal, thrash, blackmetal, deathcore, slam, psychedelic, zam, jazz, classical, jam, rock etc etc... Other than a clear and distinct breakdown or two-step part, the intention isn't necessarily to strip down and replicate their influences so that they stand out - The intention is to harness the vibes of their influences, so that their presence is felt rather than heard - It is fairly simple to just dub them a metalcore band and that would be fitting if that were the intention - It is not.
In little time, Ghostframe had put together a set of 5 songs and began performing, opening for legendary stoner-doom outfit, Pentagram, for their debut performance on February 13th, 2025 - An onslaught of shows soon followed and their set of 5 songs hit the studio to become their debut EP known as "Spectral Embrace" - As the band continued to perform and work on their EP, their impact in the community started gaining the attention of Braeburn Records and Been There Scene That Records, who went forward and offered Ghostframe a deal to sign and release "Spectral Embrace" on limited hand numbered CDs and an 8" lathe cut square picture disc vinyl record available on October 3rd, 2025.
